Suspicious Package Evacuates Ryder Logistics and Closes Route 100 in Lower Macungie Township

A suspicious package at Ryder Logistics in Lower Macungie Township led to the evacuation of a business and the closure of a stretch of Route 100 on Monday. The report came in at 1:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky.

As a precaution, Ryder Logistics has been evacuated, and local roads, including Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, are being shut down to prevent access to the area. Captain John Christopher from the Allentown Fire Department reported that the Allentown Bomb Squad was called to Congdon Hill Drive to assist with the investigation by state police. The bomb squad arrived just before 2 p.m. on Monday.
