Ostrava Golden Spike Lines Up International Athletic Stars: Who to Watch

Just a week away from the highly anticipated World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting, global gold medallists Molly Caudery and Andre De Grasse have been confirmed to compete at the Ostrava Golden Spike.

Caudery, who recently won the world indoor pole vault gold in Glasgow, will be going up against some of the best athletes in the world in Ostrava. She kicked off her outdoor campaign on a high note by winning her season opener in Doha with a clearance of 4.73m at the Diamond League meeting. This time around, she’ll face off against Czech record-holder Amalie Svabikova, last year’s Golden Spike winner Tina Sutej, and 2016 Olympic champion Katerina Stefanidi.

De Grasse from Canada, who helped his nation qualify for the men’s 4x100m at the Paris Olympics, is set to go head-to-head with Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs, Trayvon Bromell, Ryiem Forde, and Reece Prescod at the Ostrava Golden Spike. The top three athletes from the Doha Diamond League – Jakub Vadlejch, Neeraj Chopra and Anderson Peters – will once again compete against each other at this prestigious event. They will be joined by a stellar lineup of athletes including Mondo Duplantis, Gianmarco Tamberi, Haruka Kitaguchi, Steven Gardiner and Ewa Swoboda.
