Getty Images Photographers Shine at SJA British Sports Journalism Awards 2023: Winning Portfolios, Images and Accolades

Getty Images, a global visual content creator and marketplace, recently had its photographers honored at the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards 2023 in London. The awards recognize excellence in the field of sports journalism and Getty Images photographers received accolades in several categories.

Justin Setterfield was awarded the prestigious Ed Lacey Trophy for SJA Sports Photographer of the Year, marking the fifth time in six years that a Getty Images photographer has won this title. Setterfield also took first place in the Football Portfolio category. Clive Brunskill won the Phil Sheldon Trophy for Specialist Portfolio for his extensive Tennis coverage, while Ryan Pierse claimed the Sports Picture of the Year award for his stunning underwater surfing image at the Paris 2024 Olympics test event.

In addition to these awards, Getty Images photographers were recognized in various other categories. Clive Mason received the silver award for the Canon Portfolio and the bronze award for the Specialist Portfolio (Phil Sheldon Trophy). Other photographers who received accolades include Alex Pantling, Gareth Copley, Alex Livesey, Cameron Smith, and Ryan Pierse.
