Chatham Middle School Science and Technology Fair: Showcasing Youth Innovation and Scientific Skills

The Science & Technology Fair held at Chatham Middle School recently saw students from grades six through eight present their findings in the school gym. The event was open to the public in the evening, and winners were announced after classes visited to view the projects during the day.

The judging was done by Chatham’s high school and middle school science and technology faculty, who developed a hypothesis or technical problem and used either the Scientific Method or Problem Solving Method to test their theories or find solutions.

Miles Schuster won first place in the sixth grade category for his investigation of outside temperature’s impact on solar panel efficiency. In seventh grade, Jack Galvin studied which fruit or vegetable contained the most energy. Meanwhile, Lucy Tassinari and Logan Van Wie came out on top in eighth grade for examining heat protectants’ effectiveness.

Congratulations go out to all students who participated in this fair and showcased their scientific and technological skills!
