2024 Baseball Season Simulations Predict a West Coast Showdown in the World Series: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Houston Astros

After running 100,000 simulations for the 2024 baseball season through our model, the results were predicted to be a World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros. The projections showed a strong presence of west coast teams in both the American League (AL) and National League (NL) playoffs.

In the AL, it was forecasted that the AL East would see the Boston Red Sox take the top spot, closely followed by the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays. The AL Central was projected to be led by the Chicago White Sox, with Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals also making it to the postseason. The AL West was expected to be dominated by the Astros, with Oakland Athletics joining them in the playoffs.

On the NL side, it was predicted that NL East would see Atlanta Braves as winners with Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets making it to playoffs as well. NL Central was expected to have Milwaukee Brewers on top, followed by St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. NL West was expected to have Los Angeles Dodgers as division winners with San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres earning playoff spots too.

When it comes down to it, our simulations indicated that Dodgers would defeat Astros in World Series matchup if they both make it there.
